Dronestories

In winter of 2018 I started hosting embroidery circles to memorialize the names of civilians, woman and children, who have died inside Pakistan by U.S. led drone attacks. The source materials for the names and the stories that inform this communal art project exist in an online archive, "Naming the Dead," published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.  I have been working with this archive since 2014 through drawing and performance.  The embroidery circles have taken place at Northwestern University's Dittmar Memorial Gallery, the International Teaching Artist Conference (held in NYC), and 6018 North.  More Images to come.
